| 説明 | Two Maryland Army National Guard Soldiers competed in the Army National Guard Region II Best Warrior Competition at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa., May 20-23, 2014. After winning the state’s Best Warrior Competition in March, Sgt. Michael L. Firth, from C Company, 1st Squadron, 158th Cavalry Regiment, and Spc. Michael A. Robinson, from the same unit, both advanced to the regionals to represent Maryland. Firth competed in the noncommissioned officer category and Robinson in the Soldier category; both were named runners-up.The competition consisted of a written test, an Army Physical Fitness Test, and individual weapons qualifications on the M4 carbine and M9 pistol. The Soldiers were also tested on shot-gun firing, employing hand grenades, day and night land navigation, various other warrior tasks, and a 6-mile ruck march.
