| 説明 | Bruce Kutter has been elected by the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE, Technical Committee TC104) as the 2nd Schofield Lecturer. This international recognition was established in honor of Prof. Schofield, formerly at the University of Cambridge, UK, who was a pioneer in the field of geotechnical modeling. Bruce has been selected as only the 2nd recipient of the lecture, and it is indeed a recognition of his career-long contributions. Bruce has been recognized for his significant contributions to centrifuge modeling. While he has made advances in numerous areas, he has clearly been the leader over the last two decades in developing and using the centrifuge to study earthquake engineering problems. The UCD NEES centrifuge facility (both the equipment and staff) is arguably the best centrifuge facility in the world, and this is in large part due to the decades of work Bruce has invested in it.
