| 説明 | 140403-N-WC566-208:PACIFIC OCEAN (April 3, 2014) – Gunners Mate 1st Class Justin Stokes, center, shoots a shot line out of an M14 rifle from the submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) to Military Sealift Command’s USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE 14) during an underway replenishment (UNREP). The shot line is used to connect stronger lines that support refueling equipment. Completing the UNREP is a milestone for Frank Cable because it has been ten years since the last time it was performed onboard and it proves the ship has the capability for sustained at-sea operations. Frank Cable, forward deployed to the island of Guam, conducts maintenance and support of submarines and surface vessels in the seventh fleet area of responsibility and is currently on a regularly scheduled underway period.(U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist Seaman Gabrielle Joyner/Released) |
