| 説明 | 25" x 40", oil on birch panel, oil 2004Part 1 of a four part set called "Losing Marbles"She's losing her marbles. The hands are actually modelled from my own, and the folds of the dress are actually folds of one of my sweatshirts. The collar, cuffs and other foofoo are meant to talk about a time when such things were appropriate and the nature of apropriate itself. The ideal sky is just 'outside'. This entire set hangs at my studio and consists of three more paintings describing the choice this character makes. In those the doorway grows closer, the sky more brilliant.She loses her 'heart' and all her marbles. There are four of them. You have to look to find them. They undergo a change before she leaves. In the series of paintings, she does.
