| 説明 | Howard Matthew presented some of his work as part of a Mayflies event at the Star & Shadow cinema in Newcastle. The final piece of work he presented, commissioned for Mayflies, was a 24 hour cycle of stop-frame animations representing street observations gathered in Newcastle over the summer. Original audio accompanied animations which were made in sets constructed from ephemeral, found objects related to each scene. Howard displayed the sets he constructed in the Star & Shadow gallery space.I enjoyed this work, it was very playful and funny and it has a lot to say about frame composition and the huge importance of aural information in film making.The Mayflies screening programme which ran before Howard's presentation was excellent also, including work by Deborah Bower, starring Mat Fleming! |
