| 説明 | Cows grazing above the village of Shamshir in western Iran. After I returned to our taxi from this run up the mountainside (looking for photos of Shamshir), my family said "gee, maybe this isn't the best place for a foreigner to be running around on his own, the drug runners come through here smuggling opium from Afghanistan to Europe". It felt perfectly safe, and the cows project that serenity. Right across the border of Iraq (15km away), would definitely not have been so safe at the time (2006). |
