| 説明 | Introduced, warm-season, annual, erect, yellowish green herb. Stems are covered in long spreading hairs and grow to 2 m tall. Leaves are bristly and form a rosette when young. Lower leaves are toothed and upper leaves are entire. Flowerheads have numerous creamy heads (4-6 mm long) that have pale and densely hairy bracts. Flowering is mostly from summer to late autumn. A native of North America, it is a common weed of disturbed pastures, roadsides, cultivation and wasteland. A minor weed in pasture situations; it is an indicator of disturbance, low ground cover and/or weak pastures. Primary control is by maintenance of good ground cover, especially from autumn to late spring. Can be hand-pulled, but plants need to be removed to prevent seed drop. Slashing at the beginning of flower emergence will reduce seed set. If it needs to be sprayed, apply registered herbicides at the seedling to early rosette stage. |
