The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano (northwestern Wyoming, USA).Tortoise Shell Spring is a perpetual spouter on the northern flanks of Castle Geyser in Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin. It has a geyserite buildup about 7 by 5 meters in size with a thick, raised border. Activity consists of constant, low to moderate-sized roiling and splashing, sometimes reaching about 2 meters high. |
