説明 | This springtail is about 0.2mm big, and yes, that's a spider's web it's stepping on. It shows how damn small these are. New Zealand only has two Neelidae- M. incertus and M. rubidus. Though I really want to find a third! Megalothorax species are amongst the smallest animals in the world and seldom photographed.Very few and far between, the Neelidae at the moment in NZ. I think M. incertus because it looks so like M. minimus and I suspect M. rubidus is more different. Could be completely wrong, they're almost identical and it's just Megalothorax sp. and we'll never know. It's one of the two, anyway! |
