The left banner (black writing) roughly translates to: "There is money but the people don't receive it. Who is to blame? The Government!" The right banner (blue writing) roughly translates to: "We don't want dictator Alkatiri (the prime minister!" The people sitting on the road are part of the organising team, who were tasked with preventing the demonstrators from spilling over the barricade and/or causing trouble. |
