| 説明 | Peekskill Middle School Principal Dr. David Fine talks about the school’s garden to Agriculture Deputy Secretary Krysta Harden at Peekskill Middle School in Peekskill, NY on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 (standing left retired Peekskill Middle School teacher Sue Mahoney). On the table next to Deputy Secretary Harden, are vinegars that Peekskill Middle School students prepared using fresh herbs from the school's garden. Deputy Secretary Harden visited the school’s garden where students proudly showed off their crops in the school’s High tunnel. Peekskill Middle School installed a High Tunnel in the school’s garden thanks to the High Tunnels in Schools Grant. Though one would expect the garden’s raised beds to be bare at this time of year, despite the December date, arugula, pak choi, lettuce and carrots were only some of the produce flourishing in the school’s garden.
