| 説明 | Testing out our new (at the time) custom built hexacopter. This was 2013 so there were no RTF hexacopters out there for less than 10k, so we put one together.Frame: DJI 550 - bare bonesDJI NAZA Stabilization Chip (no GPS, just inertial and ESC assist)Spektrum Receiver with multiple antennas in case of inversionSpektrum DX8 TransmitterTwo (2) 4500ma 4 cell LiPo batteries running in parallelCustom built mounts for electronics on topCustom built steel (yes steel) landing gear bent in a french curve to handle hard landings and flex. WAY better than the brittle carbon fiber landing gear sets.GoPro Black attached via velcro to a custom made aluminum rig. It hangs below the Hexacopter to keep the landing gear outof the photos and video.Landing gear attached to a break away wooden sphere zip tied to the bottom. Again, save the electronics and let the lower parts bend and break.Batteries are attached with velcro straps.Experimented with FPV using video transmitter and receiver, fatshark goggles.The moral of the story is this hexacopter was a beast. It could definitely take the tip of your finger off, so don't try this at home. I only have this video because my co-builder Broden trusts my flying skills since I've been flying RC since I was 12.
