| 説明 | This is a recent snap from one of two really stunning sunrises that luckily reached over the mountain tops above the Intake Two campground just outside of Bishop. I was surprisingly graced this cold morning with some NON-blue skies finally along my wading monet autumn travels. It couldn't have come at a better time, as I was just about to throw my camera in the river. I also have a wonderful horizontal comp that is really beautiful, but in stark light of my drippy stream missing some vertical color lately... thought I would throw this version up. If anything, it's also to lift my own spirits today on this dreary thors day in so califraja un-fantastic. I just can't get to the snowy Alabama hills quick enough. How often I forget, that winners don't fall from the sky. A lot goes into being there and actually leaving with good, well documented data of what happened... Presentation aside. I recall there was a large group of workshop photographers huddled on the docks that stretch out over the water directly opposite my little perch here along the frozen shoreline... I heard one say to the other nudging in my direction across the water.... "this guy is missing all the action"... apparently referencing the mountain range, perhaps Mendel and Darwin, at my back as they might be reflected in the water while the red alpenglow slides down their slippery rock riddled sierra bellies mirrored stunningly now across the calm waters surface as a perfect light echo, complete with an aspen scarf worn across the icy waterline at my feet... so I suspect anyway... perhaps. Amazing, how you can hear a soft whisper across this placid pond at such a time. I thought that was kinda funny. Now, had the red glow not reached over the mountaintops and humbled me with a few electric moments of wow, then sir, I might have made a mad dash and been happily standing on those exact docks nudging elbows with you all as well. Actually I did that one day, and I agree, it is quite amazing from that side. But, as fate would have it, on this rare and quite surprising unplanned cloud infested radar morning, a little luck came my boring blue skies long awaited way. So gad I glanced at radar, and didn't stay in bed after the first snoooooozzzzzeeee hit. That was a close one.www.pachecolandscapes.com |
