説明 | Taken with a D70s at noon today, handheld with a Phoenix/Samyang 500mm f/8 reflector and a 72mm black polymer solar filter made by Thousand Oaks Optical.D70s, 500mm, f/8, 1/1000 s, ISO 800.The black polymer solar filter is approximately ND5, and includes a sharp cutoff of IR that could be damaging to both eyes and the camera innards. By mounting it at the front, the abundant IR is kept out of the entire optical path.Aiming an under 5 degree field of view at an 0.5 degree object that is the only visible object through the viewfinder is an entertaining process. This is a full-resolution crop from this original.Check out the similarity to this SOHO picture from the same day!Safety Warning: Looking directly at the sun through an optical instrument is dangerous. Be sure you are using a filter designed for the purpose. More information about safely observing the sun can be found here. |
