| 説明 | Having checked out the rather tatty and poorly maintained JEATH war museum in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, (see previous pictures earlier in this album), we are allowed a few minutes to walk around the area around the museum and then to actually get onto the steel bridge on the river Kwai, which replaced the earlier wooden one (see prevoius pictures earlier in this album) which was destroyed by Allied forces while fighting the Japanese. On my way to the bridge, I was delighted to spot one more of those gorgeously colourful cut fruit carts like the one we saw earlier, near the Kanchanaburi war museum. (see previous pictures earlier in this album). In fact, judging from the light grey checked shirt the vendor is wearing, it could have well been the same gentleman who has moved his cart down here. I couldn't help admiring the sheer size of the thing, with the many partitioned display slots and the variety of fresh fruit on display. (Kanchanaburi, Thailand, Oct. 2008) |
