| 説明 | The 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division’s Brigade Support Medical Company conducted a Mass Casualty training exercise on Fort Wainwright, Alaska Oct. 16. Nine simulated casualties were picked up at the Vehicle Maintenance Facility by Field Litter Ambulances and moved to the field aid station that had been set up in the Brigade Support Battalion’s headquarters area. There they were assessed and treated for simulated wounds and either placed in a recovery area or prepped for evacuation to a higher level of care. “This is one of our basic tasks,” said Maj. Kelly Seiber, commander of the BSMC, “to EVAC from the point of injury to our facility, treat the casualties, then move them to a higher level of care if needed.”The entire BSMC participated in the training, not just the companies combat medics, so every member of the company was able to practice their part in the operation.“We have several new Soldiers as well as new platoon leaders in the company, so we wanted to get them all up to speed,” said Seiber. “We’re good at this, but it’s a perishable skill, so we need to go over and over it again to maintain our level of proficiency.” (U.S. Army photos by Sgt.
