| 説明 | Construction of "Phase 1" of a project known as "The Interchange" to expand the intermodal rail station at Target Field in Minneapolis.Phase 1 involves rebuilding the tail tracks into an elevated platform area, alleviating pressure on the tight island platform originally opened in 2009. Two new side platforms will be built just west of the existing one. The project appears to include new storage tracks for handling events at Target Field and the Vikings Stadium, as well as a flyover connection point for the proposed Bottineau LRT line (expected to become an extension of the Blue Line).Further phases of The Interchange will focus on tracks in the trench below, currently used by the Northstar commuter rail service, and expected to be used by intercity services such as Amtrak to Chicago and Duluth. |
