説明 | Not edible but very pretty.Bittersweet nightshade is probably the mostcru.cahe.wsu.edu/CEPublications/PNW0588/PNW0588.pdflikely of these Solanum species to poisonhumans. Both foliage and fruits containsolanine as well as the toxic glycosidedulcamarine (which, incidentally, is similarin action to atropine, found in the closelyrelatedbelladonna), but the greatest concernis the pretty berries that are so attractive tochildren. When green in color, berries areroughly twice as toxic as when red and fullyripe; 200 red berries are considered a fataldose for adults. Children rarely eat thatmany, so nightshade poisonings rarelycause death, but they may cause other veryunpleasant symptoms, including nausea, diarrhea, headache, weakness, drowsiness, fever, sweating, and seizures. Vomitingmay also occur and, in fact, may helpto eliminate unabsorbed toxin from thestomach. Vomiting as a treatment is mosteffective if induced immediately after theberries are eaten. This can be done withsyrup of ipecac, a useful home emergencymedicine. Doctors treat significant poisoningswith lavage (flushing the intestinaltract), activated charcoal, and with theantidote physostigmine, a plant extract. |
